Moog takes over wind business of LTi REEnergy
Photovoltaics and conversion of residual heat into electricity remains with LTi
Moog Inc. (NYSE:MOG.A and MOG.B) are acquiring the electric pitch control segment of LTi REEnergy from 1 June 2009. In June last year, Moog concluded a contract to take over a 40% share of the wind energy business of LTi REEnergy GmbH. The wind energy segment of LTi REEnergy, in which Moog is investing, includes complete PITCH systems as well as the high-performance servocontroller offered under the name PITCHmaster.
LTi REEnergy will continue as a competent supplier in the area of renewable energies and concentrate on its main fields of business: In the photovoltaics segment, LTi has over 35 years' experience in the area of inverters for industrial drive engineering applications and with the PVmaster large-scale inverter for medium to large PV parks or PVmaster Outdoor, with its rugged housing for direct use in PV systems, offers sophisticated, high-efficiency based solutions. In the biomass segment, LTi develops and produces ORC systems that support optimal utilisation of waste heat from gas and diesel engines for conversion into electricity. In the wind segment, LTi REEnergy will in future focus its know-how on its refeed units, which are used in medium to 300 KW wind energy turbines.
